New SHALAWSOC members set for new session

UNIVERSITI Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) through the Shariah and Law Society (SHALAWSOC) under the Faculty of Shariah and Law (FSU) recently held an appointment ceremony of SHALAWSOC members for the 2017/2018 session and dissolution of SHALAWSOC members for the 2016/2017 session at the university’s Jubilee Hall.

Present as the guest of honour was Ustazah Norasiah binti Haji Amai, the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Shariah and Law.

The ceremony began with a recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah by Muhammad Alif bin Asyraf, Head of the Dakwah and Tarbiyyah Unit, SHALAWSOC for the 2017/2018 session followed by a speech from the guest of honour.

In her speech, Ustazah Norasiah expressed her appreciation to the former members
of SHALAWSOC 2016/2017 session and congratulated the new members of SHALAWSOC 2017/2018 session. She also urged the new members to be able to carry out the mandate given with utmost dedication and responsibility.

Former vice president of the SHALAWSOC 2016/2017 session, Muhammad Dzulhilmi bin Haji Moharefandi, conveyed his thanks for the cooperation given during his one year serving as vice president of the SHALAWSOC. He hoped the new members will continue to be committed and strive to train themselves in coordinating the strategy for SHALAWSOC well.

A total of 31 students were appointed as the new members of SHALAWSOC for the 2017/2018 session, where six students were appointed as members of the higher committee.

Abdul Hadi bin Rosnan, a Year 4 student doing Bachelor’s Degree in Syariah (Fiqh and Judiciary), was appointed as the new President of the SHALAWSOC for the 2017/2018 session.

The ceremony continued with a presentation of certificates of appreciation to the former members of SHALAWSOC 2016/2017 session and concluded with a recitation of Doa Selamat.
