THE Ministry of Health has informed the public on its new charges for individual rooms at government hospitals effective February 1. The rise in charges will only be implemented for rooms that have been upgraded, improved and equipped with certain facilities.
Judging by the increasing number of patients that need individual rooms, the hospital management saw the need to implement upgrading works in accordance with demand.
At present, only rooms at the Women and Children’s Block and some rooms at RIPAS Hospital’s wards will implement the new rate.
First class rooms for citizens will increase from $50 to $75, remain at $150 for permanent residents and rise from $150 to $175 for non citizens. Deluxe rooms will increase from $80 to $105 for citizens, remain at $180 for permanent residents and rise from $180 to $205 for non citizens. Bunga rooms for citizens will increase from $150 to $175, remain at $300 for permanent residents and rise from $300 to $325 for non-residents.
The ministry explained that individual rooms that still need to be upgraded will be subject to the old rates. For further details, the public can contact the Public Relation Office of the Ministry of Health at 2380989 or 2380485.
