THE Ministry of Health has informed the public that the P1 and P2 open space parking facility located near the main entrance opposite Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital ward complex will begin operations on Monday, December 29, 2014.
Parking fees for the P1 and P2 parking facility is 50 cents for every half–hour from 7am to 9pm, from Monday to Thursday and Saturday; and $1 per entry from 9pm-7am and on Friday, Sunday and during public holidays.
Following the opening of the new car park, lanes towards the RIPAS hospital ward complex and towards P1 and P2 parking facilities have now been converted into single lanes to facilitate traffic flow and to reduce congestion.
The public are advised not to park their vehicles illegally or to obstruct the emergency lane towards the Accident and Emergency Department, as well as to help facilitate the movement of emergency vehicles.
The public are also advised to follow the instruction from security personnel, as well as to adhere to road signs for the safety of patients, visitors and other road users and to be considerate at all times while exiting the junction of RIPAS hospital leading towards Jln Putera Al-Muhtadee Billah and Hassanal Bolkiah highway.
Meanwhile, the shuttle bus service is also running as normal and the public are urged to utilise the service as car park spaces remain limited even with the opening of the additional P1 and P2 parking lots.
The Ministry of Health hopes that with such improvement in car park facility and with the changing of roads into single lanes, traffic flow would run smoothly and safely.
Any inconvenience caused is very much regretted, the ministry said.
The public can contact the RIPAS administration division at 2242424 for further queries.
