THE Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Pehin Orang Kaya Pekerma Laila Diraja Dato Seri Setia Awang Hj Hazair bin Hj Abdullah yesterday revealed that the construction of the new National Service Programme (PKBN) Training Camp in Batu Apoi, Temburong, is ahead of schedule.
The building of the facility, which would be able to accommodate up to 700 trainees, started in the middle of this year and will be completed by June next year.
The camp is being built on a 40-hectare site at a cost of $32.52 million.
In his speech during His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Malik’s work attachment visit to the PKBN yesterday, the minister revealed that the programme’s alumni were in the process of organising post training activities based on nationhood, community, volunteerism, entrepreneurship, religion, recreation and sports.
