A NEW brand of innovative ergonomic chairs is now available in Brunei, offering the consumers healthier and more comfortable business seating options.
These chairs are part of the HÅG brand, which is owned by Scandinavian Business Seating, a company that develops and produces Scandinavian-designed office chairs for private and public office environments.
Now people in Brunei have access to the products through local authorised dealer Sejalin Enterprises Sdn Bhd, whose marketing supporter is Inspire Living Magazine.
The unique features of the HÅG chairs were demonstrated yesterday by Henrik Meltesen, the Regional Sales Manager of Scandinavian Business Seating Asia Pte Ltd from Singapore during a press briefing organised by the magazine at its head office, Catalyst. As Henrik explained, the HÅG brand offers a versatile range of chairs with an advanced design for maximum comfort and productivity, and which feature a wide range of aesthetic options to suit customers’ styles.
“The HÅG philosophy is that life is movement,” he said, highlighting that movement nourishes the body, activates and strengthens it both inside and out. Henrik said that when seated, people naturally feel the need to move in some way without realising it, not only for comfort but also for blood circulation.
HÅG chairs have been designed with this in mind, unifying form and function in a comprehensive design that can stimulate the natural movements of the body. This affects ergonomics, comfort, choice of materials as well as durability and the environment. He spoke on how the HÅG chairs have a unique “Balanced Movement Mechanism” with user-friendly controls to personalise the settings of their chairs. This is because balance is the best starting point for movement. Once balance has been achieved, one’s body controls the chair deciding when to move and when to sit still in a given position. This is where the mechanism comes into play. As you lean backwards, the front edge of the HÅG chair tilts upwards and down when you lean forwards.
What this does is stimulate ankle movement, which in turn activates the circulation system of your lower legs or “the peripheral heart)”, enhancing circulation throughout the body. The seat balances movement throughout the day as you sit in it, which results in more energy, better health and improved efficiency at work, Henrik noted. In addition to use in offices and for business seating, HÅG chairs have something to offer everyone, particularly those who spend long amounts of time in front of a computer or people with bad backs, as the benefits apply to anyone who uses them.
One of the HÅG chairs showcased yesterday was the award-winning Capisco (Italian for “I understand”), which is named as such because of the ease in which users can immediately position themselves comfortably on it without having to think about it. The Capisco is inspired by horse riders’ saddles and their sitting posture.
Among its many features are adjustable height, foot support, a “saddle seat” as well as an optional headrest and others. Also given time to shine during the demonstration was the HÅG Futu chair. This fully functional task chair is simple, easy to use as is just as well suited to large office environments as it is to individual work spaces. Among its features are adjustable armrests, foot support, and Futu Knit, which is a knitted fabric precisely shaped and adapted for the chair’s back and seat, especially designed for the HÅG Futu.
Scandinavian Business Seating’s chairs are being used in more than 75 countries, and Henrik said that he is confident that their HÅG brand of chairs will be successful and well received in Brunei. The chairs are now available and those interested can find out more by contacting local authorised dealer Sejalin Enterprises Sdn Bhd.
