Spearheading the patrol was Acting Brunei-Muara District Officer, Awang Muhammad Sunadi bin Haji Buntar, along with Supt Hussaini bin Hj Matzin, Commanding Officer of the Brunei Muara Police and Awang Haji Asli bin Haji Mamut, village head of Kg Setia ‘A’.
Prior to the patrol, a briefing was made by Inspector Siti Hasinah binti Awang Hassan, Officer In-charge of the Kg Ayer Police Station.
The Village Neighbourhood Watch programme is part of an approach towards community policing and crime prevention.
A press release from the RBPF stated that public cooperation is essential to crime prevention, and programmes such as the Village Neighbourhood Watch will enhance the relationship between the public and the police force in together maintaining the country’s peace and security.
