WASHINGTON (AFP) – America’s top envoy in negotiations to curb Iran’s nuclear ambitions will head to London next week for talks with allies as a November deadline to reach a comprehensive deal on the issue looms closer.
Undersecretary of State Wendy Sherman will travel to London on Monday for a meeting of negotiators from the six powers leading the talks with Iran, known as the P5+1, an itinerary from the State Department said.
It was not immediately clear if Iranian officials would be in London.
Sherman on Thursday called for Iran’s leaders to “make the right choice” as the clock ticked down to next month’s deadline to reach a deal.
“If Iran truly wants to resolve its differences with the international community – and facilitate the lifting of economic sanctions – it will have no better chance than between now and November 24,” Sherman said.
