THE Department of Islamic Studies at the Ministry of Religious Affairs yesterday held a nationwide religious programme for the month of September. It was held simultaneously in all religious schools throughout the four districts.
In Brunei-Muara District, the programme was held at Sungai Akar Arabic Preparatory School in Sungai Akar for the morning session and at Amar Pahlawan Religious School in the afternoon.
The religious programme was aimed at producing religiously educated individuals, especially school children and encouraging them to adopt Islamic teachings as part of their daily lives.
The programme was also part of the department’s 2010-2014 strategic plan whose main goal is strengthening the appreciation of Islamic teachings and nurturing Aqidah among the students as well as members of the public.
Yesterday’s activities included Tazkirah, recitation of Surah Al-Mulk, special Doa for Teacher’s Day and for upcoming examinations as well as ‘Doa Peliharakan Sultan and Negara Brunei Darussalam’.
Similar programmes were held at Sengkarai Religious School in Tutong District, Kuala Belait Religious School in Belait District and Bokok Religious School in Temburong District.
