FLAG-hoisting and distribution of national flags in conjunction with Brunei Darussalam’s 31st National Day was held yesterday at the vicinity of the Brunei-Muara District Office following the hoisting of the giant flag ceremony in the capital.
The ceremony commenced with the handing over of the national flag from the guest of honour, Misle bin Haji Abdul Karim, the Acting Brunei-Muara District Officer, to a Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) personnel.
The flag-hoisting was accompanied with the singing of the national anthem, ‘Allah Peliharakan Sultan’, followed by a band performance by the Fire and Rescue Department.
The event continued with the distribution of the national flags by the guest of honour to 16 Mukim Penghulus of Brunei-Muara District accompanied by village heads.
The National Service Programme (PKBN) members participated as flag bearers.
Also in attendance were members of the Legislative Council, penghulus and village heads as well as officers and staff of Brunei-Muara District Office.
