MULTITRONS Sdn Bhd introduced the Brunei public to the new Sony 4K High Dynamic Range (HDR) TV line-up, with the New X Series and A Series, in a launching event held yesterday at the Parkview Hotel in Jerudong.
The launch also witnessed the introduction of Sony’s 4K HDR OLED TV, also known as ‘Bravia OLED’ – the Al series that offers a totally new visual experience, with a combination of superior picture quality of OLED, X1 Extreme – the world’s first sound system in large-screen TV and its unique cutting-edge form factor.
With OLED’s over eight million self-illuminating pixels, the Al series brings a significantly enriched visual experience with unprecedented black, authentic colour, picture sharpness and a wide viewing angle, as a demonstration of Sony’s latest innovations.
In his opening address, Juraimi bin Haji Masrah, the Director of Multitrons Sdn Bhd, spoke of Sony’s continuing innovation and improvement in the fast-paced world of home entertainment.
He also focused on Sony’s ‘vibrating display’, where sound can be channelled directly from the TV screen as home cinema quality, advanced to higher levels of entertainment.
According to Jeremy Heng, the Senior Manager and Head of the Business Development Division at Sony Singapore, the new Sony 4K HDR series are designed to deliver even wider brightness range and higher contrast, with the new Bravia making the best use of the 4K HDR (High Dynamic Range) content while combining their unique image processor and display device technologies.
Sony also introduced the new X93E series, featuring the Slim Backlight Drive+, an improved LED backlight technology that allows more precise and accurate local diming control compared to the Slim Backlight Drive.
With its quad-edge LED structure and X-tended Dynamic Range TM PRO local dimming and boosting technology, the Slim Backlight Driver has the ability to bring superior brightness and exceptional contrast.
Sony Electronics also announced an additional array of 4K HDR and Full-HD HDR televisions for retail in 2017, which incorporate the tech giant’s proprietary technologies, including the newly-developed 4K HDR processor X1 (X9OE and X85E series only) to deliver industry-leading picture quality.
Among those present at the launch were Felix Foo, the Executive of Home Entertainment and Sound Marketing Department at Sony Singapore, as well as senior officers and staff members from Multitrons Sdn Bhd and Sony Singapore.
