PUTRAJAYA (Bernama) – A Malaysian student at the Russian National Research Medical University (RNRMU-M2), Moscow, M Murugan Pillai was denied entry at the Domodedovo International Airport, Moscow on September 2, 2014.
He was held at the airport, subsequently deported on Sunday, September 7, 2014 and arrived Kuala Lumpur International Airport at 0700hrs on Monday, September 8, 2014.
Embassy of Malaysia in Moscow was not notified officially on this matter. However, upon receiving the news, officials from the Embassy were trying to have the access to meet M Murugan Pillai at the airport but were not given the permission until he was deported.
Embassy’s officials worked closely with the Russian authorities to ensure that the student’s rights were looked after and preserved.
In fact, meal was served three times a day while waiting for the next available flight to Malaysia.
