KLANG (NST) – A 31-year-old nurse gave birth to her second Malaysia Day baby yesterday morning. Zalina Harun, a nurse with Hospital Tengku Ampuan Rahimah (HTAR), delivered her fourth child, a son, at 6.34am.
Besides sharing his birthday with Malaysia, Zalina’s yet unnamed son will celebrate the same birthday as his elder sister.
“I am definitely proud to give birth to another 1Malaysia child. My third child was also born on the same date, so we can celebrate both children’s birthdays together in the coming years,” she told reporters at the maternity ward at HTAR.
She also expressed her hopes that her son would recover quickly as he had been warded in the intensive care unit (ICU).
“I hope my son will become a useful member of the country and family,” she said. In the bed opposite her lay Noraini Affendi, 31, who also gave birth to a Malaysia day baby today. Around 9am, Noraini gave birth to her sixth child, a daughter.
“My initial due date was Oct 20 but the doctor cautioned me that the baby might be born early because I suffer from diabetes.”
