SULTAN Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien (SOAS) College recently held a motivational talk for its Years 7, 8, 9 and 10 students. The talk was also attended by teachers of the college.
The invited speaker was Awangku Kamal Ghadafi Pengiran Haji Suhaimi, Head of Youth Entrepreneurship Programme and International Relations at the Youth Centre, Department of Youth and Sports, Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS), who is also the Programme Director of Asian Youth Council whose office is based in Kuala Lumpur.
Awangku Kamal Ghadafi shared his experiences and knowledge on youth issues, entrepreneurship and covered a wide range of issues concerning youth and students.
The speaker has a vast experience in the international youth leadership field. Apart from being a student leader in school and college, he represented Brunei in the Commonwealth Youth Programme for four years and had also been appointed as the representative of Asia in the United Nations Alliance of Civilisations Youth Advisory Committee for six years.
Awangku Kamal Ghadafi urged youth to change their way of thinking and always improve themselves to overcome new and different challenges.
He also said the youth and students today are lucky to have social media because it can help students find resources easier rather than always depending on their teachers.
Being a reliable youth and exposed to international and regional issues are vital to helping the nation to grow as they are the future leaders.
Awangku Kamal Ghadafi is scheduled to give two more talks next week for SIDEX at the Youth Centre BSB for students of higher education institutions.
