THE Kg Mulaut Consultative Council (MPK) with cooperation from a number of its bureaus and the village’s Muslimah association committee officially launched the Kg Mulaut Monthly Market yesterday, located at the Hua Ho Mulaut parking area.
The move, launched by the Acting Brunei-Muara District Officer Awang Mohammad Sunadi bin Haji Buntar, was exclusively initiated for village residents who are considering engaging themselves in business activities.
In his opening address, it was stated that the initiative is among the most beneficial and noble forms of opportunities presented to the residents of Kg Mulaut whereby it will instil enthusiasm in forging friendships and further strengthen unity among the people.
Such a commitment, he added, reflects cooperation among the council, residents as well as village head in carrying out activities that can further elevate the village’s economy while at the same time aid in shaping harmony among the community.
Aimed at showcasing locally-made products to the general public as part of the One Village One Product enterprise, the market is hoped to flourish and villagers should consider opting for this opportunity by not just adding to their income but also contribute to the council’s funds.
The market, meanwhile, will operate from 7am to 5pm every first Sunday on a monthly basis where products related to agriculture, agri-food, clothing, handicraft, herbs and supplements will be made available for purchase.
