FIFTY officers and staff from the Ministry of Health (MoH) are currently attending a two-day Occupational Hygiene Training Course at the Pharmaceutical Services Department Building in Kg Madaras.
The course was officially launched yesterday by Pengiran Dr Haji Md Khalifah bin Pengiran Hj Ismail, the Director-General of Health Services. It was organised jointly by the Occupational Health Division, MoH, and the Statistical, Economic and Social Research and Training Centre for Islamic Countries (SESRIC).
MoH in a press release said the course is aimed at fostering closer relations between member countries in the Organisation of Islamic Countries (OIC) and strengthening the commitment of OIC SESRIC countries in building the framework for the occupational health capabilities in Brunei Darussalam.
MoH also said that it aims to equip occupational health and safety professionals in aspects of occupational hygiene management.
A consultant from OIC SESRIC, Ir Hj Anuar Mokhtar, is facilitating the course.
MoH said it hopes to see course participants increase their knowledge capacities and skills in occupational hygiene concepts and issues among occupational health and safety professionals both in the government and private sectors.
