THE Ministry of Education (MoE) through its Co-Curriculum Education Department will always give attention and encouragement to the Brunei Darussalam Red Crescent Society and other uniform bodies in the country. These matters are important, in line with the objectives and efforts of the MoE to instil and cultivate friendship, unity and national integration among young generation especially students.
This was highlighted by Pengiran Suhaimi bin Pengiran Haji Bakar, Director of the Co-Curriculum Education Department, at the launching ceremony of the ‘Four Districts Red Crescent Society First Aid Camp 2014’ yesterday at Youth Centre in the capital.
Pengiran Suhaimi said the objective of the camp is to help enhance students’ discipline, overall experience and balance with formal education, to cultivate and provide early training from leadership and community aspects among students and to balance academic development with physical and spiritual development.
He added that through the camp activities, students will find education values such as working as a team, tolerance, obeying and respecting the order of leaders and so on.
Above all, he believed it was most important for participants to gain knowledge and experience in providing aid and assistance to those in need of help.
He also reminded camp participants to use the experience as a testimony that could help them land jobs.
The camp is organised by the Brunei Darussalam Red Crescent Society. The camp ends on December 19.
Camp Chairman Md Rosdi bin Haji Ruslan said there are 49 participants from all four districts comprising association volunteers from Kolej International Graduates Studies and Polytechnic Brunei.
Also present yesterday were senior officers and members of the Brunei Darussalam Red Crescent Society.
