THE Ministry of Education (MoE) in collaboration with the Information Department yesterday organised a poster distribution ceremony and press conference in conjunction with Teacher’s Day celebration at the main hall of the Ministry of Education.
The guest of honour was Dr Haji Junaidi bin Haji Abdul Rahman, Permanent Secretary (Core Education) at the Ministry of Education.
The ceremony began with a recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by Ustaz Muhammad Norsham bin Haji Abdul Ghani, Education Officer of the Co-Curriculum Development Department, MoE. It was followed by the press conference.
Themed, “Pendidikan Sepanjang Hayat, Menjamin Kesejahteraan Rakyat”, the celebration will take place at the International Convention Centre in Berakas on October 9.
The theme, according to Dr Haji Junaidi, highlights that the pursuit of knowledge is essential for every individual as it brings positive contribution to the development of the country.
He believed that lifelong education plays a major role in ensuring quality human capital required by the individual, society and nation.
Dr Haji Junaidi also briefed about the different programmes that will be carried out on the day of the celebration as well as a range of activities to be held by the educational institutions.
The event also saw a poster distribution to representatives from different government agencies.
Also present were Haji Abdul Rahim bin Derus, Acting Director of Schools in his capacity as the Secretary/Deputy Co-Secretariat of the 24th Teacher’s Day celebration and 100th anniversary of Formal Education in Brunei Darussalam; directors and, assistant directors from the MoE.
