IN ENLIVENING the Maulud Nabi celebration, the Ministry of Education (MoE) continued its Dikir ceremony across selected mosques for the year 1436H/2015M at the Kg Sg Hanching Mosque yesterday.
Kg Sg Hanching Mosque was the fourth mosque the ministry has visited this year as part of the annual activity to commemorate one of the significant dates in the Islamic calendar.
It was jointly organised by the Department of Schools and the Institute of Brunei Technical Education this year.
The guest of honour at the event was Dr Haji Junaidi bin Haji Abdul Rahman, the Permanent Secretary (Core Education) at the Ministry of Education.
Also in attendance was Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary Dr Hazri bin Hj Kifle.
The event which was attended by some 100 people from the Ministry of Education began with mass Maghrib prayers followed by the recitation of Dikir.
The event resumed shortly after a mass Isyak prayer with the recitation another Dikir and concluded with a doa.
The religious event manifests the identity of Brunei Darussalam in glorifying Prophet Muhamad’s (pbuh) birthday.
It also marks a symbol of affection and love for the contributions of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) in emitting light and guidance and instiling spirit of faith to the Islamic community.
Brunei will be celebrating Maulud Nabi on Saturday, January 3, 2015 highlighted by a march procession in the capital.
