THE Ministry of Health through the Health Promotion Centre will be conducting a survey on Knowledge, Attitude and Practice of Non-Communicable Diseases among the people of Brunei Darussalam from December 6 to January 17, 2015.
This survey aims to assess the effectiveness of tobacco control in Brunei Darussalam and the ‘National Campaign Against Non-Communicable Diseases 2014’ in promoting a healthy lifestyle among the population of Brunei Darussalam.
This will be conducted nationwide and involve face-to-face interviews with selected households during out of office hours, weekends and public holidays. The survey is targeted towards residents of Brunei Darussalam who are aged 15 years and above, which will be carried out by research assistants as well as officers from the Ministry of Health. Prior to the interviews, officials will display their identification passes and authorisation letters at the selected addresses.
In this regard, the Ministry of Health has invited and requested the selected public’s cooperation and participation in the survey to help achieve the success of this research.
With a nationwide study such as this, it is hoped that information obtained will help the Ministry of Health to develop and improve health programmes and campaigns to realise the Ministry of Health’s vision of ‘Together Towards a Healthy Nation 2035’.
