FIVE officers from the Zayed Institute for Teaching Arabic for Non-Native Speakers in Cairo recently paid a courtesy call on Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohammad bin Pengiran Haji Abdul Rahman, the Minister of Religious Affairs at the ministry’s building in Jalan Dewan Majlis.
The officers were in the country to conduct a written and oral examination – on September 26 and 27 at Mahad Islam Brunei in Tutong – for students from the Arabic Secondary School who are planning to pursue their studies at Al-Azhar University in Egypt and University of Jordan.
The examination was held to allow the institute to measure the level of Arabic Language acquisition and skills as well as to provide experience for the students in preparation of their studies overseas.
The delegation, led by Dr Rehab Zanary, comprised of Ustaz Ahmed el-Qutb, the Managing Director of the institute and three teachers – Ustaz Muhammad Magdi Yaseen, Ustaz Muhammad Abdel Aziz Humaida and Ustaz Muhammad Sayyed ‘Abbas.
