THE Minister of Education, Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia (Dr) Hj Awg Abu Bakar bin Hj Apong, as guest of honour presented prizes to the winners of The Century Run that was held yesterday at Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien to mark 100 Years of Formal Education in Brunei Darussalam.
Prominent marathon runner Sefli Ahar continued his winning streak after finishing first in the 10km Male category, with the time of 38 minutes and 48 seconds, for which he received $700 and a trophy, followed by Md Sahminan Salleh Mohd Salleh (with the time of 39m 42s) and Samsul Zambin (39m 57s) in second and third places respectively.
For the 10km Female category, Dee Hj Amir was in top form and came first with her time of 48m 55s, followed by Laura Berzins (49m 19s) and Marne Ahmad (49m 29s) in second and third places respectively.
For the 5km Male Open category, Lim Wei Kwang took the first prize after finishing with a time of 15m 19s, followed by Effendy Ali Hassan (15m 31s) and Mario Mazni (16m 20s) in second and third places respectively.
The 5km Female Open category was won by Sarah Powdrill (17m 40s), followed by Julia Abdullah Chia (20m 24s) and Bibi Marcella Kula (20m 51s) in second and third places respectively.
The 5km Male Veteran category was won by Hj Mohd Azmi Hj Suhaili (17m 2s), followed by Jufri Hj Mohd Hanafiah (17m 36s) and Othman Hj Chuchu (18m 1s).
For the 5km Female Veteran category, first place winner Dawn Clare completed in 20 minutes 28 seconds, followed by Ingrid Lush (22m 21s) and Mandy Kueh Lee Meng (22m 40s).
Meanwhile, the 5km Female Junior category was won by Shana Holmes (19m 8s), followed by Dk Aina Syafiqah (20m 8s) and Mahzurah Abdul Rahim (20m 23s).
The 5km Male Junior category was won by Muiz Rafiuddin (17m 28s), followed by Mohd Azhan Haziq (17m 30s) and Raasydan Radhie Billah (18m 15s).
