A FOUNDATION-laying ceremony to mark the construction of the new academic blocks at Jalan Bedil Religious School took place yesterday.
Guest of honour Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohammad bin Pengiran Haji Abdul Rahman, Minister of Religious Affairs, officiated the ceremony.
Contractor Syarikat Farina NinJaya Sdn Bhd came up with a “village religious school” 3-in-1 concept which will feature a school, hall and surau.
The new blocks, which cost around $4 million, is scheduled to be completed by December 2015.
It will provide various facilities such as 18 new classrooms, a multipurpose hall, conference room, administration and teachers’ room, computer room, library, canteen and car park.
Also present were Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Bahrom bin Pengiran Haji Bahar, Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs; and Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Aziz bin Orang Kaya Maharaja Lela Haji Mohd Yusof, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA).
