IN CONJUNCTION with the World Remembrance Day for Road Traffic Victims, the Brunei Darussalam National Road Safety Council (BDNRSC) yesterday organised a special prayer in remembrance of victims of road traffic accidents in Brunei held at the Mohamed Bolkiah Mosque in Kampong Serusop.
Present to join the congregation at the religious event yesterday was Pehin Orang Kaya Hamzah Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdullah bin Begawan Mudim Dato Paduka Haji Bakar, Minister of Communications in his capacity as the Adviser of the BDNRSC.
The ceremony began with a mass Asar and Sunnat Hajat prayer followed by the recitation of Surah Yaasiin and Ratib al-Attas as well as Doa Tahlil.
Among the objectives of the event were to seek blessings from Allah the Almighty to protect vulnerable road users as well as to raise awareness among members of the public of the significance of road safety.
The Brunei Darussalam National Road Safety Council advised road users to obey all traffic rules and regulations and show consideration to other road users and avoid anything that could cause harm to one’s life or that of others.
Also in attendance at the event were Abdul Mutalib bin Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Setia Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Yusof, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Communications (MinComm) in his capacity as the Chairman of the BDNRSC; Awang Mohd Riza bin Dato Paduka Awang Haji Mohd Yunos, Deputy Permanent Secretary at MinComm; Dr Haji Supry bin Haji Awg Ladi; Acting Director at the Land Transport Department cum as the Deputy Chairman of the BDNRSC; directors and assistant directors, senior officials of the ministry and members of the Road Safety Council.
