SOME 80 delegates comprising former Bruneian students who pursued their studies in Singapore and Peninsular Malaysia between the 1950s to 1970s yesterday attended a briefing and dialogue session on the Malay Islamic Monarchy (MIB) philosophy held at the Goldstone Ballroom of the Centrepoint Hotel in Gadong.
The event was organised by the Malay Islamic Monarchy Supreme Council (MTMIB).
The session commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and a thanksgiving prayer followed with a welcoming remark by Head of Secretariat of MTMIB, Dr Haji Muhammad Hadi bin Muhammad Melayong and a speech by Head of the AKBS Delegation, Dato Paduka Haji Mahadi bin Haji Wasli.
The dialogue session entitled ‘Malay Islamic Monarchy in Vision 2035’ then ensued with a remark from Dato Paduka Dr Haji Ismail bin Haji Duraman, followed by a discussion on ‘Malay Islamic Monarchy as a way of life’ by a member of the MTMIB secretariat, Associate Professor Dr Haji Hashim bin Haji Abdul Hamid. A question-and-answer session.
Among the objectives of the event were to gain an understanding on the roles and duties of MTMIB in spreading and strengthening the values of MIB.
