DAIMLER South East Asia Pte Ltd, Zainal Daud Sdn Bhd and Jati Transport Sdn Bhd, the authorised Mercedes-Benz distributors in Brunei Darussalam yesterday celebrated a record-setting milestone at Syndicate Room, Indera Samudra Grand Hall of The Empire Hotel & Country Club.
Nine Mercedes-Benz Actros trucks, each clocking an average of over 1,500,000 kilometres without engine overhaul over a period of 10 years and running 24 hours daily simply show that these vehicles have done the equivalent of being driven to the moon four times.
Present to handover an award to Haji Zainal H M Daud, Director of Zainal Daud Sdn Bhd and Alfred So, General Manager of Jati Transport Sdn Bhd was Richard Hall, General Manager of Commercial Vehicle from Daimler South East Asia Pte Ltd.
In his welcoming remarks, Alfred So said, “We are extremely proud and pleased with this remarkable achievement. This record does not come easy as we need a good quality vehicle, high level of after-sales service and disciplined personnel from Zainal Daud Sdn Bhd to achieve it.
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank Zainal Daud Sdn Bhd for trusting us to provide the after-sales service. At Mercedes-Benz, we believe that when our customers purchase a Mercedes-Benz vehicle, they are assured of positive ownership experience. Not only do we strive to make that experience pleasant, but we also pride ourselves in going the extra mile to ensure their journey with us is rewarding,” he added.
The event continued with a speech by Richard Hall.
The event also saw a group photo session with one of the Mercedes-Benz trucks. Mercedes-Benz trucks carry the claim ‘Trucks you can trust’, founded on the legendary quality of Mercedes-Benz commercial vehicles which acts as a strong incentive for more than 40,000 strong workforce employed by the Mercedes-Benz trucks organisation world-wide, according to a statement.
Some 600,000 Mercedes-Benz Actros trucks in more than 100 countries live up to this claim day after day by displaying quality, durability and reliability whether on the road or off-road. Not to forget the many other Mercedes-Benz trucks, such as the Atego and the Axor, all of which can be traced back to the legendary vehicles that have enabled Mercedes-Benz to establish such an enviable reputation during the course of a truck-building history that stretches back more than 110 years.
Over the years, Mercedes-Benz Actros trucks have received multiple prestigious awards such as ‘Green Truck 2013’, ‘The world’s most economical series-production truck’, ‘Truck of the year 2012’, ‘Best Commercial vehicles of 2011’ and ‘Truck of the decade in Great Britain and Ireland’.
