KESUMA felt the full force of Menglait’s attacking might as Menglait steamrolled to a whopping 18-1 victory in the DST FA Cup on a wet Track and Field of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex last night.
The emphatic scoreline was easily the highest scoring game in this year’s DST FA Cup or possibly in recent history, far surpassing the 9-2 and 9-0 wins in previous matches.
Kesuma did hold a five-minute lead after Md Shahrul Lizam bin Hamzah netted in the third minute.
The lead was cancelled out by Ak Md Sallehudin bin Pg Sarifuddin before the player struck again to grab the lead for Menglait FC.
It took Menglait in the 19th minute to take control of the tie and they embarrassed Kesuma on a goal-scoring spree.
Ak Md Sallehudin also set the benchmark for any individual after remarkably finding the net eight times in the 8th, 19th, 27th, 47th, 52nd, 55th, 82nd and 83rd.
Liong Hong Ping and Ak Md Nurhidayat bin Pg Hj Ali each bagged a hat-trick while Darsoto Tjhia scored a brace.
Muhd Nazim Haffiz bin Kekal and Md Zaizul Maun bin Zainal Abidin joined in the score-sheet.
