TOLERANCE, courtesy and patience are some of the characteristics adopted in our Malay Islamic Monarchy (MIB) culture, along with praising the positive attitude of the community that is capable of solving any problems with fairness.
This was stated by Haji Haris bin Haji Othman, the Belait District Officer at the end of a meeting, which involved the Belait District Office, Mukim Seria Consultative Council members and some of the residents of Mukim Seria, regarding the issue of the pension allowance distribution in Mukim Seria held at the Belait District yesterday.
He believed that the concern displayed by the Mukim Seria Consultative Council and the senior citizens of Seria in handling the issue will bring new confidence from both sides to trust each other.
This bond not only fosters better relations but it also acts as an eye-opener for both sides to find solutions to any issues that may come up in the future.
When asked about questions that were directed by the residents during the meeting, Haji Haris and the Mukim Seria Consultative Council members empathised with their situation and were thankful that a solution was found for the issue.
They also hope the pension distribution will go according to plan.
The district officer also mentioned about the rules and regulations that were set and is confident that the senior citizens will do their best to abide by them during the pension allowance collection on December 22.
