PORT KLANG (Bernama) – The Port Klang Marine Operations Force (MOF) seized 30,202 items comprising traditional medicines, cosmetics and medicinal herbs of various brands worth about RM103,768 which were believed to be smuggled from a neighbouring country Saturday.
Acting commanding officer of the Port Klang Marine Operations Force Base ASP Mohd Rohaizad Mohd Nasir said all the goods seized were from a ‘barter’ boat which was inspected by his men in the Bagan Hailam waters, Port Klang at about 7am.
“Also detained were a skipper and 14 Indonesian crew,” he said in a statement yesterday. He said the items were discovered after an initial inspection was made on the boat and it had been taken to the Marine Operations Force Headquarters Base for further inspection.
Mohd Rohaizad said all the individuals detained had failed to furnish any validation document on the goods, an offence under the Control of Drugs and Cosmetics Regulations 1984.
