MAYBANK’S Country Head and General Manager for Brunei operations, Lim Yu Kwang, announced in a press conference that it is now better than ever to transfer Malaysian Ringgit from a Maybank branch in Brunei Darussalam to Malaysia with discounted charges and competitive rates. The promotion will last until end of June 2015.
Maybank is re-launching its Over The Counter (OTC) remittance service. The promotion, which is valid from March 2 to June 30, 2015, entails the customer to 33.33 per cent discount off normal charges. This means the normal OTC charge of B$30 for amounts up to B$10,000 will only be B$20 during the promotional period.
According to Lim Yu Kwang, a customer can still transfer Malaysian Ringgit (MYR) even without an account in Maybank but there is a limit to the amount of transfer and the customer must be a Brunei yellow IC holder.
The Head of Community Financial Services, Olivia Yong, further explained that the OTC remittance service for Brunei dollars to MYR funds for transfer to Malaysia Maybank accounts is also applicable for money transfer to Malaysia and Singapore.
Yong said that the beneficiary’s account at Maybank Malaysia will be credited instantly and this has reflected the hassle-free transfer of money using the OTC remittance.
She added that for MYR remittances to non-Maybank account holders in Malaysia, the customer with a Maybank account holder can utilise Maybank’s telegraphic transfer service.
The hotline 2225408 is accessible for more information on the OTC remittance.
