DEPUTY Chairman of the Paraplegic and Physically Disabled Association (PAPDA), Awg Hj Ahmad bin Abdullah, has urged the public and private sectors in the country to come forward and give assistance in order for them to carry out their daily activities.
Speaking to the Bulletin during the recent Korban ceremony organised by Maybank Brunei at its headquarters in Kiarong, Hj Ahmad expressed his appreciation to Maybank and the Community Development Department (JAPEM) for choosing to distribute the Korban meat to the association.
He also hoped that other relevant agencies would follow the step taken by the bank, which is part of the bank’s corporate social responsibility (CSR).
In the past two years, the bank has also organised similar events with PAPDA and a Maybank representative said that the Korban ceremony was part of their annual activity to give back to the community and at the same time enhance and foster closer ties with them.
According to the deputy chairman, there are around 360 members of PAPDA throughout the country, with more yet register with the association.
