MAYBANK Brunei yesterday donated six units of wheelchairs to Paraplegic and Physically Disabled Association (PAPDA) as part of the bank’s corporate social responsibility to the community. The event was held at Maybank Brunei in Kiulap.
Present to hand over the donations to the Deputy Chairman of PAPDA Association, Awg Haji Ahmad bin Abdullah, was the Country Head and General Manager of Maybank Brunei, Lim Yu Kwang.
The initiative was part of the bank’s effort to get closer to the local community. Awg Haji Ahmad added that Maybank Brunei has also been working closely with other organisations in the country’s charity activity such as organising a charity bazaar with SMARTER Brunei in early October this year and holding a Korban ceremony with PAPDA Association. Also present at the event was officers of Maybank Brunei as well as members of PAPDA Association.
Awg Haji Ahmad, on behalf of PAPDA Association, thanked the bank for helping the less fortunate and urged other organisations to follow its step. He added that the association will organise a get-together for members of PAPDA Association and their family members. The event is set to be held in December at Seri Kenangan Beach in the Tutong District.
