THE Riadah Hall of the Youth Centre is witnessing some powerful display of the lives and cultures of Asia.
MASTERA (Southeast Asia Literary Council) Theatre Festival is aimed at celebrating theatre as an important platform to understand and appreciate a particular culture.
Present at the festival was the Director of Language and Literature Bureau, Hjh Aminah binti Hj Momin, as well as other distinguished guests and members of various theatre groups from Brunei, Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore.
Performing at the event yesterday were a group from Indonesia ‘Kelompok Kerja Teater Tesa’ with their play entitled ‘Mengeja Kabut’, and Hazriq Idrus, a talented individual from Singapore with an interactive theatre performance entitled ‘Atuk’.
Performances from two more theatre groups will be held today (September 19) at the Riadah Hall of the Youth Centre at 7.30pm.
The MASTERA Theatre Festival is a project co-organised by MASTERA committee members from Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore.
The first MASTERA Theatre Festival was held in September 2011.
