NINE foreign women and their alleged male clients were detained Monday night during a raid on a massage parlour in Gadong.
Codenamed ‘Operasi Bersepadu Basah,’ the operation involved 30 personnel from the Law Enforcement Unit of the BSB Municipal Board with cooperation from the Anti-Vice and Gambling Suppression Unit of the Royal Brunei Police Force.
Following two weeks of surveillance, the enforcement officials came knocking on the doors of the massage parlour, where the male clients were allegedly found in private rooms with their masseuses.
Providing such service to the opposite sex goes against the Beauty and Health Establishments Act. The massage parlour was ordered immediately shut to allow for further investigation. Additionally, the massage parlour has violated the Miscellaneous License Act for suspected immoral activities.
