MINISTER of Health Pehin Orang Kaya Johan Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awg Hj Adanan bin Begawan Pehin Siraja Khatib Dato Seri Setia Awg Hj Mohd Yusof yesterday paid a working visit to two health centres in Sungai Asam and Pengkalan Batu, to have a closer look at the management of the centres and to address issues that need attention as the nation strives to provide the best healthcare service to the community.
At the Sungai Asam Heath Centre, the minister was briefed by Medical Officer Dr Hjh Hannah Justina binti Abdul Hadi Jilleh, while at the Pengkalan Batu Health Centre, he was briefed by Medical Officer Dr Hjh Norafizan binti Hj Hazipin.
The minister was accompanied by the permanent secretary at the Ministry of Health, deputy permanent secretary (Administration and Finance) at the Ministry of Health, deputy permanent secretary (Professional and Technical) at the Ministry of Health, directors and senior officers from the ministry.
Close to 30,000 patients were recorded throughout last year at the Sg Asam Health Centre, mainly residents of Mukim Tamoi, Kg Burong Pinggai Ayer, Peramu (all in Kg Ayer), and at Mukim Lumapas, the number of patients totalled 12,000.
