KUALA LUMPUR (Bernama) – A man was speaking on his handphone near a tyre shop in Jalan Klang Lama early yesterday.
That would be the last call the 36-year-old would ever engage in. Before he could finish the conversation, he was slashed and gunned down by three youths, one armed with a gun.
The assailants, also armed with machetes and wearing crash helmets were believed to have escaped on motorcycles in the 5.45am incident. The police have classified the case as murder. A witness told the police that the attackers had chased the victim for some distance before he was slain.
Brickfields police chief ACP Muhammad Azlee Abdullah said the witness, stricken with fear, rushed into a shop to hide before he heard a gunshot. He said upon examining the body, the deceased was found to have sported the tattoo of a tiger on the hand and that of a pyramid on his back.a
