DPP Aiman Zakaria preferred three charges against the defendant and he pleaded guilty to all.
The first count states that the defendant used a baseball bat and caused hurt to Febri Handoko Putro, an employee at RIPAS Hospital Canteen, at about 9pm on January 5, 2013.
According to the second charge, the defendant had in his possession a baseball bat and a hand axe when he was at the Lobby 5, Emergency Room, RIPAS Hospital at about 9.46pm on November 23, 2014.
The third charge says that the defendant displayed threatening behaviour to provoke a breach of peace in the public place at the Lobby 5 at that time.
According to DPP Aiman’s statement of facts, the defendant received a call about 8pm on January 5, 2013 from his wife Norhidayanti asking him to pick her up early from work at the hospital canteen because of a dispute with one of her co-workers, Febri Handoko Putro.
The defendant arrived about 9pm and confronted Febri who ignored the defendant, which eventually led to the defendant hurting Febri by hitting on his temple with the baseball bat he had brought with him.
Febri succumbed to the defendant’s demand and apologised to his wife and promised not to do it (sexual harassment) again.
A police report was lodged in connection with this incident.
On November 23, 2014 at about 9.46pm, the defendant again walked into RIPAS Hospital Canteen. Then he walked towards Lobby 5 of the Emergency Room brandishing a baseball bat and an axe and shouting “Johari”.
The defendant demanded to know where the children’s ward was after being told that was where “Johari” was. Meanwhile, the defendant was subdued by his brother and a friend and was taken away from the scene.
The defendant yesterday mentioned in court that his intention to look for “Johari”, whose actual name is Zahari bin Hj Jaya, was to demand him to take full responsibility for his acts.
Judge Pg Hajah Hanani Pg Hj Metussain fixed December 4 for sentencing.
