NINE young Malaysian men facing a charge of alleged wrongful confinement of an 18-year-old boy, were released on court bail yesterday pending further police investigations into the case.
Defence counsel Shamila of Messrs Fathan, Rudi Lee and Associates is now representing Jason Walter Rocos anak Muda (19), Fam Fook Siong (26), Audrin Brandi anak Pasang (22), Johnny anak Sprie (21), Rubin anak Naning (24), Garry Chong Kah Yong (32), Duncan Lesle (21), Lee Teck Lung (21), and Nickson Sim (19).
Magistrate Azrimah Rahman did not record any pleas yet from the defendants as she handed bail release to each defendant for $3,000 or one local surety with other strict conditions.
The case was fixed for next mention on December 13.
Each of the defendants faces a charge of wrongfully confining the boy at Bangunan Pg Hj Damit, Jalan Perindustrian Berakas on October 1.
The charge carries a penalty of a jail term which may extend up to three years and a fine.
DPP Pg Suzana Pg Abas appeared for the Public Prosecutor.
