AS A form of recognition and reward for achieving excellent results in their studies, some 300 Malaysian children who are attending school in Brunei and whose parents are members of the Persatuan Warganegara Malaysia (PWM) are set to receive the 2014 Academic Excellence Award.
Details for Malaysian children who are eligible to apply for the 2014 Academic Excellence Award were revealed at a press conference yesterday chaired by the members of the organising committee including Raymond Ting and James Lee, the president of PWM.
To be eligible for the award, all applicants must be Malaysian citizen and children of PWM who attended school in Brunei Darussalam.
All application forms must be completed and submitted with a certified copy of school examination results, two passport size photographs and a copy of Malaysian passport with details of passport holder and a copy of a parent’s valid PWM membership card or official receipt of membership registration.
Primary one to form six students who meet the results requirement are welcome to apply. Among the criteria are: primary one to three students must achieve minimum of 90 marks and above or 5As, primary four to five students must achieve 85 marks and above or 5As while primary six students must achieve PSR result of at least 4As and one B.
The secondary and sixth form students’ requirements are also available inside the application which can be obtained at Traders Inn, Jalan Gadong.

The presentation of the 2014 Academic Excellence Award will be held during the PWM 2015 Chinese New Year Celebration that is expected to take place on March 7, 2015 at the Manggis Mall.
