THE Malaysian delegation, led by Major General (Rtd) Dato’ Seri Jamil Khir bin Haji Baharom, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office of Malaysia, concluded its two-day working visit to Brunei yesterday.
A welcoming ceremony was held for the 31-member delegation at the Royal Berkshire Hall, Royal Brunei Polo & Riding Club in Jerudong yesterday.
The delegation was welcomed by the Minister of Finance II at the Prime Minister’s Office, Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Setia Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Rahman bin Haji Ibrahim.
In his speech, Pehin Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Rahman appreciated the visit of the Malaysian delegation and stated that the visit served not only as a platform for discussion but also to share a wealth of knowledge and most importantly to further strengthen the cordial relationship between Brunei Darussalam and Malaysia.
The delegation was also given a brief background on the history of Syariah law by Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia (Dr) Ustaz Haji Awang Abd Aziz bin Juned, the State Mufti of Brunei Darussalam.
Also attending the ceremony was the Minister of Religious Affairs, Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohammad bin Pengiran Haji Abdul Rahman.
