OIL and gas operators are offering a number of employment opportunities to prospective jobseekers at the ongoing Oil and Gas Sector Job Fair 2014.
The Fair, which is being held at Bridex International Convention Centre, was officially opened on Wednesday, and is showcasing over 100 companies and organisations collectively offering over 2,000 jobs.
One of the major operators offering positions is Brunei’s national petroleum company, Petroleum Brunei. The company has 28 vacancies available for graduates and mature hires, and those interested are encouraged to visit their booth where they can find out more and drop off their CVs.
Another is Brunei LNG, which stated in a leaflet that they are “urgently seeking talented, dynamic and hardworking citizens of Negara Brunei Darussalam towards its growing business”. They are offering three positions in the fields of marketing, security and accounting, as well as a number of opportunities as graduate development trainees for those who have Bachelor degrees in the fields of engineering, law and marketing, commerce or business administration.
Shell Deepwater Borneo is also offering a number of jobs. Technical positions include Senior Exploration Geoscientist, Exploration Geoscientist and Junior Exploration Geoscientist. Commercial positions are also available for Local Business Development Advisor and Governance Analyst.
Brunei Shell Petroleum Co Sdn Bhd is another operator offering employment opportunities. There are openings for HND and graduate development trainees, as well as a number of both commercial and technical positions.
Meanwhile, Brunei Methanol Company has an existing vacancy for two rotating technicians as well as future vacancies in the fields of compliance, human resources, admin support, stakeholder relations and as personal assistants.
Another company offering employment opportunities is TOTAL E&P Borneo BV, which has openings for both technical and non-technical staff. In addition, they have various positions up for grabs as part of their ongoing Maharaja Lela South (MLS) project.
Hengyi Industries Sdn Bhd currently has a number of positions open, and are eyeing new chemical engineers, operators, technicians, supervisors as well as staff for mechanical, construction and process control work to name a few.
The main operators in Brunei’s oil and gas industry can all be found at Bridex Exhibition Hall 2, along with financial institutions and engineering, construction and maintenance companies’ booths, showcasing the various employment opportunities available.
Exhibition Hall 1 is where visitors can find companies that specialise in the fields of logistics and marine, well services and drilling, information technology and general services.
The Job Fair opens today at Bridex from 9am-11.30am and 2pm-6pm. It will also be open on Saturday and Sunday from 9am-6pm.
