HIS Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam consented to hold a bilateral meeting with Herman Van Rompuy, President of the European Council, on Wednesday evening.
The bilateral meeting was held at the Hotel Principe di Savoia, Milan.
His Majesty is currently in Italy for the 10th Asia-Europe Summit Meeting.
During the meeting, His Majesty and Van Rompuy discussed regional and international matters of mutual concern.
Accompanying Van Rompuy were Pedro Serrano, Special Advisor on External Affairs of the European Council; Viorel Isticioaia Budura, Director for Asia for the European External Action Service (EEAS); and Fabio Della Piazza, Member of the Cabinet of the President of the European Council.
Also present were Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Setia Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abd Rahman bin Haji Ibrahim, Minister of Finance II at the Prime Minister’s Office, and Pehin Orang Kaya Pekerma Dewa Dato Seri Setia Lim Jock Seng, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade II.
