MABOHAI Shopping Complex Management will be hosting a one-man art exhibition on October 26 at the event stage of the complex from 10am to 6pm.
“I am Adrian” is the first art exhibition by 17-year-old artist, Adrian Chu, where his artworks range from still life to landscape and abstract portraits. Twenty-four artworks will be on sale at the one-day exhibition.
The young budding artist started formal art classes three years ago and has developed his own style and colour mix through the years. Some of his remarkable works are wistful and poignant sceneries through his perception, using colours and strokes which communicate his emotions associated with them.
One of his favourite performers is the late pop superstar, Michael Jackson, whom he has immortalised through several pieces of his artwork.
Part of the proceeds from the sale of the artworks will be donated to Pusat Ehsan Al-Ameerah Al-Hajjah Maryam and the centre will also be on hand to showcase and sell some of the craftwork created by its students.
Manager of Mabohai Shopping Complex, Yee-Man Cheng, expressed honour to host the exhibition for special artist like Adrian.
“Come and catch a glimpse of Adrian’s way of looking at life and comprehending it, and of how he put forward his ideas, memories and musings. Adrian’s art is clearly part of his way of communication with his parents and the people around him. We are so proud to be able to provide an opportunity for him to show his artworks,” she added.
The host is inviting members of the public, especially art lovers and collectors, to come and see the creations of Adrian and be part of the growth of his artistic ambition.
Adrian’s mother, Sally, noted that some of the artworks truly depict her son’s personal journey and one can see his soul through his work.
