Darmstadt, Germany (dpa) – Taking a long bath in hot water is not good for the skin, warns a German portal, Haut.de, which provides scientifically validated advice on skincare.
After 10 minutes in hot water, the skin will begin to loose moisture and get dry.
The best way to prevent that happening is to use a bath oil that protects the skin with a thin layer of oil.
Even if you do use an oil you shouldn’t spend longer than 15 minutes in a hot tub. After bathing you should also use a cream to re-moisturise the skin, Haut.de advises.
