THE Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) Reserve Unit Company C recently detained a 44-year-old permanent resident who attempted to smuggle contraband of cigarettes and alcohol into the country.
According to the police statement, personnel from the Police Reserve Unit Company C patrolled the vicinity of Kampong Bebuluh and apprehended a man with a black bag which he was about to put inside his vehicle. Inside the black bag were 31 cartons of cigarettes, one carton of beer as well as two packages of chicken wings.
The man was brought to the Limau Manis Police station for further investigation.
The Royal Brunei Police Force advised the public not to get involved in smuggling activities and also reminded them to report any suspicious activity by contacting 993 or the nearest police station.
