IN VIEW of the current school holiday, Haji Mahari and his family recently spent some quality time by going on a river cruise around the water village in the capital.
The group was led by Awang Haji Maisali bin Haji Mahari, who said that the excursion was aimed at filling the children’s leisure time during the school holiday by educating them on the history of the water village.
“The visit hopefully will benefit the children as they they need to know their heritage,” he added.
The family enjoyed the two-hour river cruise on a motor boat popularly known as ‘penambang’ driven by Haji Awang Besar bin Haji Bakar, from the water village.
During the river cruise, the family also took the opportunity to take a closer look on wildlife animals such as the proboscis monkey. They also visited the Kampong Ayer Cultural and Tourism Gallery, the Brunei Museum and the Royal Regalia Building.
