THE first ever LiveWIRE Business Awards Clinic and launching of Energy Programme were conducted yesterday to increase participation and quality of submissions of Category B for the LiveWIRE Business Awards 2014-2015 Competition.
Held at SEAMEO VOCTECH, the half-day clinic was attended by more than 60 participants comprising LiveWIRE Brunei Business Network (LWBN) members with existing businesses as well as teachers and students from vocational and technical schools.
The Energy Programme was introduced by the Chairman of LiveWIRE Brunei, Hajah Rosita binti Haji Hassan, who is also the Head of Supply Chain Management (SCM) Brunei Shell Petroleum Co Sdn Bhd (BSP).
The facilitator for the workshop and Senior Business Counsellor of LiveWIRE Brunei, Mohammad Fadhilullah Tudun bin Haji Hassan, said that the clinic is to further improve the quality of business plan submissions from nominated participants. The objective of the workshop was to provide proper guidance on the essential paperwork requirements, expectations as well as expansion planning for businesses.
The workshop featured experiences and advices sharing by the previous judges namely Pg Sanusi Iskandar bin Pg Haji Ismail, Senior Manager at the Corporate Banking Support Unit, and Haji Md Sabirin bin Hj Othman, Public Sector and GLC Department of BIBD.
Dr Dawn Cranswick, CEO of PNE group covered the Let’s Go Trade Programme and Hajah Rosita binti Haji Hassan talked about the Energy Programme and the opportunities available for SME’s in the Oil and Gas Industry.
In its second consecutive year running, LiveWIRE Brunei is introducing the ‘LiveWIRE Brunei Exemplary Award’, categorised under Special Awards; namely ‘The Most Sustainable Enterprising Company’, ‘The Most Progressive Achiever’, and ‘The Most Outstanding Enterprising Company’.
It is hoped that by introducing these special awards, it will continue to motivate inspiring and talented entrepreneurs to come forward with their bright ideas and become a role model for others. “Our goal is to build capacity for business through access to entrepreneurship training and business development, and in expanding or increasing youth-owned businesses especially start-ups and SMEs in the Sultanate,” said LiveWIRE Brunei’s Programme Director Pg Redzuan bin Pg Haji Abbas.
The submission deadline for the Business Awards 2014-2015 is on March 6.
