THE National Library of Language and Literature Bureau (DBP National Library) in the capital yesterday welcomed eight librarians from the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) and the departments under it.
Heading the delegation was Dayang Amal Syukriyyad binti Haji Abdul Kahar, a Librarian Officer from MoRA.
Upon arrival, the delegation was greeted by the Acting Head of Librarian Dk Hajah Mastiara Pengiran Haji Damit and the staff of DBP National Library.
The delegation was given a detailed briefing by the Assistant Librarian Officer, Hidayatullah Haji Yahya on the history of the National Library and the progress and development it has witnessed since its establishment.
The visit concluded with the delegation touring the National Library and the various facilities.
The visit was aimed at fostering the relationship between the librarians at DBP and MoRA, and allowing the delegation to understand the systems that are being used in the National Library in terms of administration, services, cataloguing and other related matters.
At the same time, the event also provided an opportunity for the visitors and the staff of DBP National Library to share their opinions and knowledge on the e-library system used in libraries throughout the nation including libraries of the MoRA and the Islamic Dakwah Centre.
