I WONDER if the Brunei Government would consider easing the citizenship requirements for local-born applicants who are elderly (aged over 65).
I understand that the elderly applicants are not given any leniency when they apply for citizenship as they still have to go through multiple examinations.
The younger generations have to sit for exams to get their citizenship, which is fair enough. However, there should be no harm in giving some leeway in granting citizenship to elderly applicants as they will not be challenging the youth for jobs. They just want to be proud to be called citizens of the country where they were born.
