THE Law Enforcement Division of BSB Municipal Board yesterday carried out an operation targeting two business premises in Madewa and Beribi.
The operation, which concluded with two notices issued by the Law Enforcement Division of BSB Municipal Board, was aimed at ensuring business premises comply with the rules and regulations.
Six other government agencies were also involved in the operation, namely the Department of Water Services, Fire and Rescue Department, Department of Electrical Services, Land Department, Department of Environment, Parks and Recreation (JASTRE), as well as the Quality Control and Food Safety Division of the Health Services Department.
During the operation, a car wash business was found to have operated illegally without a proper licence.
Meanwhile, Fire and Rescue personnel who made a surprise check at the premises found a convenience store flouting fire safety regulations by storing flammable materials in restricted areas.
Owners of buildings or premises are advised to install new electric wires as a preventive measure against fire.
