TELEKOM Brunei Berhad (TelBru) would like to acknowledge and respond to the letter published on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 – “Waiting for landline”.
Based on our open service order records created since January 2014 for telephone and eSpeed services for Jerudong areas, we have identififed a number of applicants waiting for telephone installation. All applications have already been assigned to relevant departments of TelBru for further action and the customers were duly informed of the status.
Our Customer Care team has also identified the writer and informed him again that the expected timeline for the service to be made available is between January and February 2015. In fact, he had already been informed of the status when our team contacted him on September 30, 2014. The delay is due to inadequate infrastructure in the area concerned that has to be provided before our technical team can proceed with the service installation. The writer is fully aware of the reasons for the delay and acknowledged the expected timeline.
We would like to take this opportunity to inform our valued customers that we have invested in new infrastructure to improve our services to the customers. This includes the Fibre-to-the-Home (FTTH) network deployment programmes for Jerudong and Sengkurong areas which are well underway. When fully completed, this will greatly improve the quality of services and customers experience in the areas including the availability of High Speed Broadband (HSBB) services. Any new and outstanding service applications in the areas will also be automatically upgraded onto the new fibre cabling network. For any inquiries, customers can contact our Customer Care centre at 111.
